Lake Visit and 9 Month Check-up!

Two weekends ago we took Taylor and the labs to one of the lakes in our neighborhood for some playtime. We've done this before, but this was the first time that I put Taylor down in the grass. This was really her first time in grass and she wasn't too sure about it. At first she gave me the pouty lip and thought about crying, then she decided that it might be okay once she realized that she could put the grass in her mouth. She didn't want the grass to touch her legs though so she kept one of them lifted up at all times as the pictures show. The dogs had a great time playing in the lake, especially Drake.

Taylor's crawling skills have greatly improved. No longer does she slowly crawl and creep after things. If something catches her attention (like the cat) them she is off at full speed. I spend most of my days chasing her around and trying to keep her "contained" into an area now.

We went to her 9 month check-up a few weeks ago and everything was great. She didn't have to get shots, but she did have to get her finger pricked and she was NOT happy about that. She was okay with the actual pricking part, then she just looked at us and started crying while the nurse kept squeezing her finger to get enough blood. Afterwards she got a band-aid and we calmed her down. She was very intrigued with the band-aid and kept putting that finger in her mouth (just like all new things she finds). Needless to say, before the doctor even made it into the room we had to remove the band-aid because it was starting to come off due to the slobber all over it and we were afraid she was going to choke on it. She weighed 19 pounds, 6 ounces (52%); she was 28.5 inches (71%) long; and her head was 44.5 cm (58%). We don't have to go back until her 1 year check-up in July. I still can't believe that my sweet baby girl will be 1 in July!
