...and she's off!!

Taylor has officially got the crawling down. She goes anywhere that she wants with no problems. I spend my days following behind her taking things away from her. She also took her first steps the other day. It was behind one of those little walker toys and she has repeated several times for us. While she is not showing much interest in walking yet, she does pull up a lot. She also enjoys just standing and playing.

We have also made giant leaps and bounds with our sleeping schedule. She FINALLY will go to sleep in the crib without crying at all. I put her in there for a morning nap, afternoon nap and at night. I put her down when she is sleepy, but still awake and give her a burp cloth (more on this in a minute) and she tucks the burp cloth under her and goes right to sleep. She is also sleeping through the night - most nights she sleeps for about 10 hours (sometimes more, sometimes less).

Now about the burp cloth. Apparently Taylor has decided that the white cloth diapers that we have been using for burp cloths are going to be her "thing." You know, all kids have that one "thing" that they can't live without and if you leave it somewhere you turn around to go back and get it no matter how far away. Well, our "thing" is the burp cloth. She LOVES them. She will tote them around all day and will even go through the dirty clothes basket looking for them. I am seeing this as a good object to become attached to. She did not attach herself to one stuffed animal that we must then go out and hunt down another one to keep as a spare. Fortunately, we have dozens of these burp cloths around our house. There is always a clean one (well, most of the time!) and if we lose one or leave it somewhere we just go to the drawer and out comes another one - it's like magic!

We go for our 9 month check up on Thursday so I'll post again after that adventure. Fortunately, we don't get any shots at this visit, just a finger prick (or so they told me last time).
