Halloween & Church Nursery

Yesterday we headed to Woodland Furniture to buy the chest that matches Taylor's dresser (that we are using as a changing table). The chest was actually a gift from my grandmother, Nana, but this is the first weekend we have had free since we moved in the house and were able to go get it.

We also made an unplanned purchase while we were at Woodstock. We had been looking at gun safes and were planning on purchasing one soon but weren't planning on purchasing one yesterday. While we were there we headed over to check out their safes. We had looked at them before and they didn't have very many to choose from but they recently got a new shipment in. Brian found a safe that he wanted and it actually turned out to be cheaper than anywhere else we found and so we decided to go ahead and get it. Fortunately, we had borrowed a trailer from a friend of ours so that we were able to haul all our purchases home.

This past Wednesday was the first time that we have taken Taylor to the church nursery. We had been taking her to church with us but we hadn't taken her to the nursery yet. I know that at 4 months old most babies have already done this, but until now we haven't been ready to leave her in the care of someone we didn't know (and when I say we I am mainly talking about her daddy). She survived her first night and the lady in the nursery said she did great. This morning we took her back to the nursery and left her in the care of another lady. When we went to pick her up the lady had her out in the hall showing her off and socializing (there were only 2 babies there today and the other one had already been picked up). She said that she did great and was happy the entire time. I was afraid that I was going to have "that baby", you know the one who screams the entire time and no one wants to keep. At least so far she has decided to behave while at church - let's just hope it lasts!
